You can start carrying your baby in the first months of life. Stork Carry is for babies from 7 lb, newborn to 3 years.
Some baby wraps and carriers are made just for small babies. They are often worn high, so your baby sits at kissing height, and your shoulders take most of your baby’s weight. Since your baby weighs so little, that works fine.
Other carriers, like Stork Carry, are made for a longer period: from birth to about 3 years. For a newborn, that takes an adjustment (setting the back panel) and usually a special insert for small babies: a cushion under your baby’s bottom that raises them, so their face comes up above the fabric.
Stork Carry has an adjustable back panel, plus an optional insert for small babies. Use the Newborn Insert until your baby is about 23.6 in (60 cm) long, usually around 2 months.
What to check when you carry a young baby
- Keep your baby close enough to kiss, with their chin off their chest.
- Keep your baby’s nose and mouth uncovered and visible at all times, so your baby can always breathe properly.
- The neck support holds your baby’s head and comes up to just under the ears.
- The legs are in the M-position, with the bottom lower than the knees.
- The feet don’t rest on an edge, which can trigger a reflex to push away.
